日本では馬は人を踏まない、と言われ「交通安全」を祈って自動車などに
飾られたりしたそうです。
また、幸せが「駆け込む」物事が「うまくゆく」などと言われて珍重されて玄
関、居間等に飾られてき多そうです。

フックはバネ式です。

・Agave/Magueyの葉
【竜舌蘭】
リュウゼツラン属(竜舌蘭、Agave、アガヴェ)の大形多年草。
メキシコ原産。
テキーラの原材料。
葉は多肉質で多数根生し、長さ1.5メートルほどの剣形、白
または黄色の縞しまがある。
一稔植物で、発芽後、数年～十数年で大形の花序をつけ、
結実後全草が枯れる。
葉の繊維で織物を作り、またしぼり汁でテキーラを醸造する。

花言葉は

・魔除けとしての蹄鉄
扉に蹄鉄をぶら下げると魔除けになると信じられている文化圏があり、
多くの国では幸運のお守りとも見なされている。
一般的な迷信として蹄鉄の鉄尾(末端部 分)が扉に留められていれば、
幸運が舞い込むというものがある。しかし、両端が下に向いていると不
運が舞い込むともいう。

いということから、交通安全のお守り として蹄鉄を自動車に付けたとい
う説がある。

蹄鉄による幸運も悪運も、それを掛けた人ではなく、その所有者に降り
かかると信じられている地域もある。従って盗んだり、借りたりした蹄鉄
からはどんな幸 運も得ることは出来ないといわれている。ある地域では
蹄鉄は人目に付くように留められておかないと何の効果もないといわれ
ている。

このような風習の起源は諸説ある。ケルト人がダーナ神族を鉄器と騎馬
で打ち倒した事から、邪鬼などの異界の住人は鉄を嫌うという伝承が起
こり、本来の民話 や伝説が持つ意味は忘れ去られ、ただ幸運をもたらす
という風習だけが残ったという説。
後にカンタベリー大司教となった鍛冶屋の聖ダンステンが 悪魔から馬の
蹄鉄を修理するよう頼まれた際、悪魔の足に蹄鉄を打ち付け、痛がる悪
魔に、扉に蹄鉄が留められているときは絶対中に入らないという約束を
取り 付けようやく蹄鉄を取り外してやったことから悪魔除けとされた説。

女性器の象徴を家の外壁に飾ることで悪魔の目をそらせ家への侵入を
防ぐという風習が古く からあり、馬蹄が女性器を象徴したためこの悪魔
除けの力が幸運のシンボルとなったという説。蹄鉄に打つ鋲の数が7
(ラッキーセブン)だったためという説な どがある。
