・Agave/Magueyの葉
【竜舌蘭】
リュウゼツラン属(竜舌蘭、Agave、アガヴェ)
の大形多年草。メキシコ原産。
メスカル/テキーラの原材料。
メスカルは「テキーラの母」と呼ばれています。
花言葉は「繊細」「気高い貴婦人」

・グアダルーペの聖母
(スペイン語 : Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe、La virgen de guadalupe
英語 : Our Lady of Guadalupe)は、
カトリック教会が公認している聖母の出現譚の一つであり、メキシコで
最も敬愛されている宗教的シンボルである。

・Naja(ナジャ)
もともとは古代ムーア人が、魔よけとして馬蹄をモチーフに
デザインした物がNaja。
それをナバホ族が『女性の子宮』をモチーフに独自のデザインを
生み出し、子孫繁栄の願いを込めた。
鉱物が生まれる母なる大地との繋がりに感謝する意味もある。
メキシコでは、ソンブレロ、マリアッチの衣装、
ラグや女性の洋服の柄によく出てくる。

アルファベットで「13番目」の文字。
個人的に好きな数字であり、メキシコでは神聖な数字。

・サボテンの上で蛇を咥える鷲
メキシコの国章(メキシコのこくしょう)アステカの伝説に由来する
デザイン。
サボテンに立つ蛇を咥えた鷲は、アステカの民が首都を決めるために、
ウィツィロポチトリ神の神託により「サボテンの上に蛇を食らう鷲が
いる土地」を探して200年の間彷徨った伝説。

・EL SOL Y LA LUNA (太陽と月)
メキシコでは観光名所となっている、古代都市テオティワカンに
「月のピラミッド」「死者の大通り」と「太陽のピラミッド」があり、
民芸品からアーティストまでが太陽と月のモチーフを当たり前の様に使っています。
太陽と月、光と影、男と女、動と静、対照的ですが離れられない関係です。
