の大形多年草。メキシコ原産。
メスカル／テキーラの原材料。
メスカルは「テキーラの母」と呼ばれています。
花言葉は「繊細」「気高い貴婦人」

・CALAVERA / カラベラ(SKULL)
(メキシコでのアートや民芸品で作られた
頭蓋骨の呼び方)
メキシコでは、死は消えてなくなるものではなく、
生へと繋ぐもの、再生を意味し、いつか必ず訪れ
る死を、笑顔で迎えられるように、毎日を大切に
楽しく生きていく、そんな思いも込められている
そうです。
また、ガイコツには自由を意味するという説もあ
るそうです。
スペインの植民地だった事もあり、ガイコツにな
れば生前縛られていた人種や民族、肌の色が関係
なくなるという理由だそうです。
